How does the Marina Pez Vela Fuel Polishing system work?

First, we filter all our tanker diesel fuel before it ever hits our fuel storage tanks. Then we filter 100% of the fuel again as it leaves the storage tanks and heads for our fuel dispensers.

How many times do we polish our fuel?

Our diesel fuel passes through a total of 6 filtration stages and 24 microfilters before being dispensed to your engine.

How clean is Marina Pez Vela’s polished fuel?

Standard diesel fuel dispensed in Costa Rica contains an average of 28,000 microcontaminants per milliliter. Marina Pez Vela polished fuel dispenses with an average of less than 20 microcontaminants per milliliter. Our Marina Pez Vela polished fuel contains 99.99% less contaminants.

When was the fuel polishing system installed?

We performed the infrastructure upgrades and installed all the necessary equipment during 2023. Our Fuel Polishing system went online on January 10, 2024 and we have been dispensing polished fuel ever since.

How much more does Marina Pez Vela’s polished fuel cost?

Zero. We provide our Marina customers polished fuel at no additional charge because we believe the long term benefits for your engines and for our environment far outweigh the costs.   Our reward is happy and loyal customers.
