A final registration will take place from 3:00 to 6:00 p. m., MARCH 8th, 2024, at MARINA PEZ VELA. A virtual Captains/Anglers meeting will be held at 7:00 pm. We advise anglers and boat captains to attend. WhatsApp your questions to 2774-9006 and they will be discussed during the broadcast.  Anglers that are pre-registered and anglers needing to register must send at least one representative to obtain tournament credentials (by appointment only). Anglers, captains, and mates are obligated to accept and be bound by all the rules and instruction changes announced during this meeting.

Angler, Crew and Boat Requirements

Without exception, each boat must have on board one designated boat captain and at least one designated mate. Captain and crew changes are allowed but must be communicated to the tournament committee prior to the day’s fishing. There is a limit of six registered anglers per boat in this tournament; however, if an angler drops out, a substitute angler can be signed on with the team if he/she registers before the start of that day’s fishing.  Registered guests are allowed on the boats as non-participants but are not allowed to partake in the fishing in any way.  Boats may receive aid from other boats in the form of towing in the event of mechanical failure.

Boats Over 36’ Sailfish Points Jackpot (Optional) $1.500.00
Marlin Release Jackpot (Optional) (time is tie breaker) $500.00

*A qualified sailfish release is defined as a verified video release with all the components.

In the event of a tie, the team that reaches the highest score first wins.

The 1st and 50th qualified sailfish release will be based on and among the teams competing in that particular jackpot.    For example, the 50th qualified sailfish release, is the 50th qualified sailfish release among only the teams entered in the 50th jackpot category and not the 50th qualified sailfish release of the tournament.   In other words, releases by teams in the tournament, but not in the jackpot category will not affect the sequential releases of the particular jackpot teams.

In the event that less than 50 qualified sailfish are released by the 50th qualified sailfish release jackpot teams, the money for the 50th Qualified Sailfish released jackpot and the money for the 100th Qualified Sailfish released jackpot will roll to the “1st qualified sailfish released” by the “1st qualified sailfish released” jackpot teams.

IGFA MODIFIED

IGFA release and equipment rules apply in this tournament. It is the responsibility of each registered angler and crew member to know, understand and abide by IGFA and tournament release rules during this competition.

Release Rules (IGFA)

All teams must provide their own digital video recording device to video sailfish releases. At the end of the day’s fishing, the video camera, catch-report affidavit and all video footage taken must be brought to the tournament center for verification of official release points. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the day’s catch. Do not delete any video taken during tournament hours.
